MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012: Post Event

What a massive weekend it was with MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 taking place at Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon. Over a stunning amount of 16,000 fans flocked the venue to party with Justin Bieber, Kara, Mizz Nina & Jay Park.

Hardcore fans began queuing up as early as 7AM in hopes to be the first to enter the concert venue and be as close as possible with their idols on stage.

The show began with global superstar Justin Bieber opening, Beliebers cheered their lungs out as soon as Justin took the stage. He kicked off with his famous smash hit "Baby".

 

Justin continued with “All Around the World” and “As Long As You Love Me” followed by acoustic performances of “Die in Your Arms,” “Be Alright” and “One Time.”

The energy peaked up with his performance of “Never Say Never” and the set closed with “Boyfriend".

After Bieber's set ended, mega Korean Pop girl group - Kara donned the stage dressed in bedazzled costumes.

 

They began with the energetic hit - "Step" accompanied by ten dancers and set an all time high-energy tone.

 

It was carried straight into performances of “Jumping” “Lupin” and “Honey,” and “Let It Go”. Kara finished up their set with their history and dance craze making hit “Mister" which incorporated the infamous "butt dance" choreography.

Our country's homegrown talent - Mizz Nina took the stage immediately after. Mizz Nina opened with “Just Do It” and then going into “Takeover” and “Hit Me Up.”

After a quick wardrobe change, Mizz Nina commanded center stage with performances of “Rentak Yang Sama” “With You” and “Summer Burning". Lastly, Mizz Nina ended her performance by pulling off her debut track "What You Waiting For" and the crowd's response was explosive, literally.

Finally, the last act of the night - Korean Pop sensation Jay Park who kicked off his set with “AOM and 1llionaire.”

 

Showing fans why the U.S. born and bred Korean-American singer, songwriter and dancer consistently tops the charts, he kept the crowd captivated with “Abandoned” and a Korean version of “Know Your Name.”

Slowing things down, he then performed the ballad “Carefree” followed by medleys of “Nothing” and an English version of “Girlfriend” as well as “I Got Your Back” and “Star”.

 

Park’s female fans swooned to his sexy rendition of “Turn Off Your Phone” and “Do What We Do” before picking the pace up for a show-stopping dance number, and then bringing MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia to a close with a spectacular rendition of “Body2Body”.

The show ended by 10PM, much earlier than the previous years but it was surely one of the best shows in Malaysia by MTV yet! Photo credits go to MTV and their photographers.

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 will be produced into a 2-hour TV show premiering on MTV SEA channel on Saturday 28 July 2012, 12:30pm (WIB), 1:30pm (SG/HK/PHIL) and 2:30pm (MAL). An hour-long version will also be broadcast later in the year via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels in over 150 territories, reaching over 600 million households.

The highly anticipated show of the year - MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 is finally back! This year, it's happening on the 14th of July so mark your calendars right now! MTV World Stage has been brought back to Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon with some huge acts this year.

 

Featuring massive acts like the global phenomenon Justin Bieber, fans are set to see him open MTV World Stage with a bang!
 

Since its 19 June debut, Justin Bieber’s 4th album has exploded to #1 spot in 30 countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and The Philippines in Asia. His “Boyfriend” music video, at over 89 million VEVO views today, shattered all online records since its MTV premiere on 3 May.

  

For one sensational evening, Beliebers, Korean pop fanatics and supporters of local music will converge at Sunway Lagoon for a night of live performances by Justin Bieber, Jay Park, KARA and Mizz Nina that truly represent what World Stage is all about – bringing the biggest and best local, regional and international artists together on one stage.

Jay Park is set to rock the crowd once again since his last visit here in May.

Kara will be making their first appearance in Malaysia this July 14th.

Mizz Nina, our country's homegrown talent will also be performing her popular tracks.

For their existing customers, the top 50 card members with highest number of swipes will get a pair of passes. Minimum spend for the contest is RM50.
