Sold.My - A new way of bidding in online auctions held it's grand launch for the Malaysian site on the 29th of February at Gecko Restaurant Bar Lounge, Damansara Perdana.
What is Sold.My and how does the site work?Sold.My is an exciting, innovative and reliable auction website offering a wide range of new products at great bargains! As the premier lifestyle auction site, you will find the hottest tech gadgets, hotel stays, travel deals and female must-haves to compliment your daily living. Cool thing is, all auctions start at RM0.00 and all products are brand new & are shipped directly from the relevant suppliers. Each time someone enters a bid, the current price increases by 15 cents and the time remaining increases by up to 20 seconds. When the timer reaches 0, the last successful bidder wins the right to buy the product. At Sold.My, each bid uses a token worth RM1.50 and all bid prices start from RM0.00 with the fixed price increments. Each bid will cost RM1.50, so users are advised to bid wisely.
The event also had a live demonstration on how to bid using Sold.My with great tips provided by the friendly Sold staff. Media & bloggers also had the chance to experience live bidding to win 1 of the many attractive products up for auctioning.

After the event, the media-only site was open for us to access with a secret password and the 1st auction took place at 9PM, and the auctions began all the way until midnight. With only limited complimentary tokens provided, attendees of the event were encouraged to bid wisely with correct strategies used prior to the beginning of the auction.
*And guess who won the most items that night?I broke the ice by winning the 1st auction of the night - a RM100 Voucher for Topman/Topshop and proceeded bidding for other products. Eventually after keeping our eyes glued to the site for hours, I won myself an additional token pack & a Crumpler Messenger - Barney Rustle Blanket. Not forgetting I could've won the Casio G-Shock watch but I let it go before claiming the final bid due to certain reasons.
I won the products for only a fraction of the original price! RM0.06 for the vouchers and RM18.45 for the messenger bag. That's at a 99% discount rate!

Sold.My users are interested in finding out how I won so many products, I had planned out a strategy before bidding which led me to win the auctions with minimal tokens used. Trial & error in between cannot be avoided, the key is to bid, bid, bid and enjoy!
After winning the auction & celebrating my win filled with excitement, I had made my payment the following day to have my winnings delivered, and within 3 days I received it in a carefully packed parcel.

- SOLD.MY has a strict policy where all employees and immediate family members are not allowed to participate in the auctions. All employees have to sign an agreement to consent to that.
