Samsung Galaxy Tab Media Launch

A few weeks back, I attended the Samsung Galaxy Tab Media Launch in Sungai Wang Plaza. This all happened thanks to Samsung and Advertlets for the invitation.

Powered by Android Operating System 2.2 (Froyo), this is Samsung's first ever foray into tablet devices, joining the current tablet market like the Apple iPad and other tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab was launched by Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Maxis Berhad, because this device is more than just a tablet, it can also be used to call & SMS if you insert a SIM card into the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Maxis Chief Operating Officer, Jean-Pascal van Overbeke inserting the giant Maxis SIM card to officiate the launch.

Striked on with a 7 inch TFT LCD and supporting the latest Adobe Flash Player 10.1, the 380g Samsung Galaxy Tab delivers exciting mobile experience for watching videos, viewing pictures, e-reading or sharing documents.

With 3G HSUPA connection and Bluetooth 3.0, the Samsung Galaxy Tab enhances mobile connection. It also has a front & back 3.2mp camera. The front-facing camera allows users to have video calls over 3G. The rear camera captures still images and videos which you can edit, upload & share.

Image00004

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is priced at RM2,699, or you can bundle it with the Maxis contract to enjoy a cheaper price.

This new device will be available at Maxis centres nationwide & selected Maxis Exclusive Partners.

I was at the UniQlo opening!

Image00006

So the word has been spreading around recently, and even more often these few days. What's all the hype about? UniQlo! The famous street apparel from Japan finally opened it's first 3-story store in Fahrenheit88 today!

Image00001

Located opposite Pavilion, the queue to enter UniQlo started as early as 10pm yesterday night! The store was only opening at 11am this morning, so you can see how hardcore the Malaysian crowd were!
Image00002

I was planning to camp outside UniQlo at 11pm last night, but we decided to head down only in the afternoon when the crowd has subsided. But even at 4pm, many people were still standing in line. Everyone had to queue up for 3 hours just to enter the store!

Image00009

Met up with Jeremy at The Loaf, Pavilion before we walked over. Thanks to him, we only needed to queue a mere 2 minutes before we found ourselves standing inside UniQlo!

Image00008
Once we were in, it was like a war zone for shoppers. I saw a group of people just throwing clothes into their baskets like it's a free item. UniQlo's limited offer price surely lured alot of shopaholics into buying!

Image00003
Then came the queue, just to pay for your goods you'd have to line up for another hour. But UniQlo arranged the queue systematically with many cashiers available.

UniQlo
's concept is very trendy & street, but I personally think their clothes (mostly winter clothing) are not suitable for the Malaysian weather. Even Singapore has a UniQlo store for some time already, but the craze isnt as big as in Malaysia.

So, have you started queuing?

KLPF 2010

Happened at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre last weekend, the only attraction were probably the booth babes.

Which also means I'm gonna be sharing a photo of a Thai model here.
