Hennessy Artistry @ Mist Club, Bangsar

Hennessy Artistry came back with a blast! This time around it happened at Mist Club, Bangsar. Many thanks to Feeq for giving me invites. Featuring artistes like ZE!, DJ Nesh & the main star of the night - DJ Inquisitive all the way from Singapore!

Arrived at Mist Club way before the party started for the media conference at about 8.00pm.

ZE! - She has just finished touring with the man behind David Guetta's famous track 'Love Is Gone', it's none other than Joachim Garraud! And she will also be touring Brazil really soon. I really like her style of dressing, so wild!

DJ Nesh, the familiar name in the Malaysian DJ scene - Starting at the young age of 16 and having already 7 years of experience, he has DJ-ed alongside many famous names & even has rocked the crowd in many huge events!

DJ Inquisitive - The DJ all the way from our little brother down south, Singapore! He's a 3 time champion for Singapore's DMC Championship & he achieved a top 4 placing in the World DMC Championship. Known for being a turntablist & a battle DJ, he was present at Mist Club to rock the crowd with his stunning scratching skills!

All of us just after the media conference, starting slow with Hennessy & finger foods! Managed to taste the new flavor at Hennessy Artistry which was Raspberry flavor, very fruity & pleasant!

Legend of the Guardians: The Owl of Ga'Hoole

Thanks to Warner Bros Pictures & Advertlets, we are happy to bring you another movie screening this month which is Legend of the Guardians : The Owls of Ga’Hoole. The best part is, you’ll be watching it in 3D!

From the creators of Happy Feet, this new movie has an interesting story line not only for the youth to watch, but also suitable for grown ups!

"Acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder makes his animation debut with the fantasy family adventure “Guardians of Ga’Hoole,” based on the beloved books by Kathryn Lasky. The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms."

Taylor's Asaban Fest 2010

This event happened 2 weeks ago. Thanks to Feeq I managed to attend this event. Since I'm not a very big fan of events like these, I dont have anything in particular to highlight about.

Image00001

Just a brief introduction to the event, Taylor's Asaban Fest 2010 had band performances, food stalls, art stalls, games corner, stage giveaways, cosplay competitions and they also had the Bon Odori dance later on that night.

Image00002

I didnt stay around for long because the event was kinda boring (Maybe it's because I went at the wrong time), but a few friends of mine arrived the venue, bought the entrance ticket, went in & left the venue within 7 minutes, they said it wasnt their thing.

Tickets priced at RM10, it's a decently priced event for those who are really interested in cosplaying, viewing manga art and such. This event might have been dominated by cosplayers, though I saw many parents bringing their children to experience. *Dont wanna comment on their childrens' facial expressions when they arrived the event.*

Image00003

The food stalls just outside the hall were selling Takoyaki, Ramen, Udon, Okonomiyaki, cheese sausages & a few other choices of pre-cooked food. Maybe it's not something to complain about, but the Okonomiyaki I ordered tasted out-of-the-refrigerator cold.

Image00004

Before I end this, I'd like to say good job to the organizers for only having short delays on the schedule. But before that, I would like to state that the food stalls opened by the members of the Taylor's Asaban club should keep all food warm and closed instead of the cheese sausages on the grill only. Also, passes for us were only 2 letters 'BP' written on our hand with a marker pen, I washed my hand and the ink was gone, not a very good way during the attempt to re-enter the hall.

The Other Guys Preview Screening by Sony Pictures and Advertlets.

Thanks to Sony Pictures & Advertlets, we have the chance to attend the preview screening of "The Other Guys" before it officially screens in Malaysia!

theotherguys-movie

I've been waiting for this movie to come out for months! After watching the trailer, this seems like a pretty good movie not to be missed!

Here's a synopsis of the movie, if you don't already know what it is about:

"NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don’t get tattoos – other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You’ve seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They’re not heroes – they’re “the Other Guys.”

But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City’s biggest crime. It’s the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?

Columbia Pictures’ ensemble action comedy The Other Guys stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, with Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Adam McKay and written by Adam McKay & Chris Henchy, the producers are Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jimmy Miller, and Patrick Crowley."

i) Tell us how you’ll stand out by being THE OTHER GUYS.

Hmm, how I'll stand out by being THE OTHER GUYS? How about this?!
.
.
.
theotherguys-movie2

Pictures speak a thousand words. So there, I've already told you a thousand words on 'how I'll stand out by being THE OTHER GUYS'.

I'll stand out also by being on the cover of the movie, being on banners & billboards all over the country, enjoying all the BOOMZ action scenes in the cinema on the 12th of October together with 185 other people!

ii) Being THE OTHER GUYS (outcasts) have its own advantages… Tell us why!

1. 'The Other Guys' are more unique than anyone.
Outcasts might not be the same as every other Tom, Dick & Harry in the society, but they shine in their own way, probably a more special way of shining. They might lack the skills of what normal sociable people have, but they definitely have skills which all the normal sociable people dont have.

2. You never know, but outcasts usually turn out straight.
Because they want beautiful girls all over the world, but they cant get them, so they maintain their desire for women. On the other hand, normal sociable guys get bored of the same old type of girls after a period of time, then they turn "soft" in search for something new & interesting. *I'm obviously creating this up, HAHA!*

3. Outcasts will spend alot of time thinking how to write this blog post.
They have nothing better to do, so they are able to sit down for hours to think of ideas for this blog post, which is an advantage! Like me, I'm just filling up this space so it seems like I've put alot of thought into this post. And no, the judges didnt just read this. Actually, I just wanna win the Sony USB Media Player, thanks Sony Pictures & Advertlets in advance :P

4. Because they got nothing on you, baby.
I admit, I admit... This is totally random because I'm listening to Nothing On You by Jay Park now. But outcasts have nothing on you (a normal sociable person), like literally. So it's a win-win situation. They wont bother you, you wont harass them. As they say "Sea water doesn't conflict with well water".

------------------------

In case you don't know why I'm posting these, it's because Advertlets is hosting a blogging contest for you people to win tickets!
